David De Gea Bids a Heartfelt Farewell to Manchester United Supporters
David De Gea has shared an emotional farewell message with the Manchester United faithful, marking the end of his illustrious Reds career.
In the summer of 2011, David made the journey from Atletico Madrid to Manchester, and for 12 remarkable years, he stood as a guardian between United’s posts, solidifying his status as one of the club’s all-time greatest goalkeepers.
Today, he departs Old Trafford as a legend, leaving behind an indelible legacy of 545 appearances, 190 clean sheets, and a multitude of personal achievements, records, and trophies.
On his official Twitter account, David expressed his sentiments to the supporters:
“Penning this farewell message to all the Manchester United supporters is an incredibly challenging task.
“I want to convey my unending gratitude and deep appreciation for the love you’ve shown me over the past 12 years.
“We’ve accomplished so much since the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club and entrusted me with the honor of donning this badge.
“Each time I wore this shirt, I felt an immense sense of pride. To lead the team and to represent this institution, the world’s biggest club, is a privilege reserved for only a handful of fortunate footballers.
“The journey has been unforgettable and filled with success since I arrived here. When I left Madrid as a young boy, I could never have imagined the heights we would reach together.
“Now, the time is right for me to embrace a new challenge, to push my limits in fresh surroundings, and to embark on new beginnings.
“Manchester has left an indelible mark on me and will forever be a part of who I am. This club, Old Trafford, and our extraordinary supporters will forever occupy a special place in my heart.
“Together, we’ve experienced it all.”
