Perez was quizzed specifically about Vinicius Junior, and reassuringly, the Real Madrid president made a definite remark about the promising left winger’s future.
Perez confirmed on Twitter, via MadridXtra, that Vinicius Junior is not available for transfer. He is not for sale, and no team will be able to acquire him.
Although there was speculation – including on El Chiringuito – that Vinicius could be included in a transfer swap deal for PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, those rumors were effectively debunked following Vini’s incredible performance against Liverpool in the Champions League quarterfinals first leg.
Vinicius also performed admirably in the Round of 16-second leg against Atalanta and in El Clasico. After a poor run in the middle of the season, he has improved his results for Real Madrid in the last few months.
Vinicius, who is just 20 years old, is one of the most talented wingers in the world and has the potential to be a superstar for Real. Vini becomes even more relevant with money tight and Mbappe looking less likely due to PSG’s stance against the European Super League. Who would substitute him in Real’s squad if he were to be sold?
Perez’s public declaration in favor of Vinicius pours cold water on any smoldering wood left on the table. Vini has shown the qualities and desire of a Madridista, and regardless of what the club’s future holds in light of Perez’s controversial conduct, Vini should remain a core member of Real Madrid.
