Ralf Rangnick’s first two weeks in charge of Manchester United had gone almost perfectly, with two victories and a draw.

Both of the Red Devils’ victories came in the Premier League, putting them back in contention for a top-four finish.

Rangnick, who has been signed until the end of the season, is due to start a consultant role in the summer, which will keep him at Old Trafford until 2024.

That means United’s interim manager is also in charge of the future, and he is anticipated to be active in the January transfer window.

The German is anticipated to be granted some finances to help improve his squad, and he has already stated that he wants to whittle down the bloated roster he took over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

“When I look at the number of players we have, it’s still a large team; we definitely don’t have enough,” he said last week.

“We must ensure that players wish to be here. If they feel they are not receiving enough game time here, they should speak with the players individually to determine if a loan agreement would be beneficial, but that is still too early to discuss.”

And whenever the transfer season reopens, there is already a growing list of players hoping to go.

Anthony Martial has missed Rangnick’s first three games in charge due to injury, but he appears to be way behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Marcus Rashford in the pecking order.

Cavani is another player who could struggle under Rangnick’s high-pressing approach, as the 63-year-old has previously stated that he does not believe in using experienced players in his system.

After signing a one-year deal in the summer, the center striker is due to become a free agency at the conclusion of the season.

However, injuries have limited him to less than 300 minutes in all competitions in his second season in English football.

Despite their elimination from the Champions League, reports in Spain have aggressively connected the Uruguayan with a move to Barcelona, and according to Mundo Deportivo, he is still interested in the move.

After placing third in their group, Xavi’s side was eliminated from the competition and demoted to the Europa League.

Cavani, on the other hand, is determined to turn around the LaLiga giants’ fortunes after a dismal few months on and off the field.G
