On Monday night, Van Persie, United manager Erik ten Hag, and their agent Kees Vos dined at the Chinese restaurant Tattu in Spinningfields.

Ten Hag, Van Persie, and Vos were seen talking as they went through Manchester city center after a three-hour dinner.

Van Persie, the Feyenoord assistant coach, is said to be spending time at United’s Carrington training complex as he prepares for a possible career in management.

According to United sources, Van Persie is not being lined up to join their coaching staff, and Ten Hag is merely aiding a club friend with his professional growth.

Ten Hag is assisted by Mitchell van der Gaag and Steve McClaren, and performance analyst Kevin Keij followed Ten Hag from Ajax to United.

Van Persie joined United from Arsenal in a £24 million transaction in 2012, and his 26 Premier League goals that season were crucial in United’s last title success.

The Dutchman spent three seasons at United, scoring 58 goals in 105 games before being allowed to move to Fenerbahce a year before his contract expired.

United infamously forgot to announce Van Persie’s exit on Twitter, but the former Arsenal striker returned to Old Trafford in 2016 and received a standing ovation after scoring for Fenerbahce in a 4-1 Europa League defeat.

Van Persie is the last United player to score 30 goals in a single season.
