Since bursting onto the scene with PSG, Kylian Mbappe has been on Real Madrid’s radar.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez declined to rule out the possibility of signing PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe this summer but urged fans to stay cool.
The Spanish giants have made no secret of their intention to bolster their squad this summer, with Mbappe and Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland being linked with transfers.
Perez acknowledges that Real must “transform and develop” after falling behind Atletico Madrid in La Liga this season. The French giant PSG forward Mbabe remains their top target owing to his current performances in Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
‘I go out wearing a mask, nobody knows who I am, and all of a sudden I hear, ‘Presi, sign Mbappé!’ I tell them to ‘be calm.’ Why lie when it’s good? Madrid is in desperate need of a makeover. We must progress. We have won a lot and we must regain the dream, the ability to compete,’ Perez told Spanish television program El Chiringuito, as quoted on SB Country.
The French international Mbappe has once again been in phenomenal form scoring 35 goals in 41 appearances in all competitions this season. This summer, the France international will reach the final year of his contract with PSG, and the club has been desperate to re-sign him.
The Ligue 1 club is expected to receive offers from interested parties this summer, and if they are unable to convince Mbappe to sign a new contract, they would most likely want to sell him rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next season.
Perez also addressed rumors circulating about Cristiano Ronaldo’s possible return to the Santiago Bernabeu. Real president Florentino Perez put an end to any talk of a return for the Portuguese star, while also stating that young Real forward Vinicius Jr. is untouchable.
‘Cristiano will not return to Madrid; he has given us a lot, but his return is illogical.’ He said, “I love him, but it doesn’t make sense because he’s a Juventus player.’
According to the news, ‘Vinicius is not for sale. No European club can buy him, you cannot even touch him.’
