Although Ronaldo is as dangerous as ever in front of goal, the Red Devils are far from being the power they were under Ferguson.

Nonetheless, the former United boss has been meeting with Ronaldo on a daily basis and wants the 37-year-old to stay at Old Trafford for another year, according to the Daily Mirror.

According to the article, Fergie wants Ronaldo to protect his legacy at the club by committing his future for a little longer, and it will be interesting to see if the star listens to his former manager.

It appears a gamble, however, to stay with United while they are in such disarray, though things could change under new manager Erik ten Hag next season.

However, the Dutchman may be wary of Ronaldo due to his age and how he may fit into his high-pressing tactical philosophy.
