Man Utd ‘have now interviewed two other candidates in addition to Erik ten Hag

According to sources, Manchester United football director John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher have examined a total of three contenders for the vacant managerial position. The news comes about a week after Erik ten Hag met with the club following Ajax’s 3-2 triumph over Feyenoord last Saturday.

Ten Hag is said to have impressed United’s administration with his ideology and vision for the club.

The 52-year-old also inquired about the club’s transfer plans and budget in order to obtain a better understanding of the situation at Old Trafford.

According to certain rumors, Ten Hag is currently waiting to be offered the post and is ready to start this summer.

However, he is not the only name in the running, with Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui, and Luis Enrique also in the running.

Andy Mitten reported on the United We Stand podcast that United has spoken to three candidates for the role, two in addition to Ten Hag.

The identities of those managers are unknown, but United is now ramping up its recruitment efforts.

There is hope that a new manager will be named before the end of the season.

Pochettino is already thought to have had talks with Murtough, however, there has been no follow-up following the conversation.

When seeking an interim manager in November, United conducted a thorough interview procedure.

Ralf Rangnick was victorious, and he will move up to a consulting role at the end of the season.

Other candidates examined included Ernesto Valverde, Rudy Garcia, Lucien Favre, and Paulo Fonseca.

In an interview with The Mirror, Sammy McIlroy, the last of the Busby Babes, highlighted exactly what United should be searching for if history is any guide…
