Manchester United: Richard Keys slams Paul Pogba as ‘incredible’ comments emerge

The 29-year-old midfielder is in the final six months of his contract with the club, but the club has apparently been seeking to extend that term since last summer, but based on his words in a recent interview, those talks don’t appear to be going anywhere.

Speaking with French publication Le Figaro (via The Daily Mail), the Frenchman spoke up about his time at Old Trafford, and seemed to hint that he had spent a lot of time during his second term at Manchester United, saying that a lot of it had fell short of what he expected:

“To be honest, the last five seasons haven’t satisfied me — not at all.”

“It’s dead this year; we’re not going to win anything.” I want to win trophies, whether it’s at Manchester United or another team.”

In response to the comments, Keys attacked the Frenchman on Twitter, implying that his past bosses from his tenure at the club might have something to say about it and that this could be the final straw in his time at the club:

And Keys is correct to be outraged by Pogba’s comments because it’s not as if Pogba hasn’t contributed to the lack of trophies that have persisted since his rookie season in 2016/17.

With just 39 goals since re-joining the club in 2016, he hasn’t exactly lived up to expectations following his then-world-record move, which hasn’t been helped by the attitude issues that have plagued his time at the club, resulting in the club being on their third permanent manager since Pogba’s return.

These statements could be the final nail in the coffin for Pogba’s tenure at Old Trafford, but with a new manager on the way, nothing can be ruled out at this point, especially if it’s one who Pogba believes can help deliver the titles he’s been requesting.
