The yearly event recognizes the greatest campaign performers from the previous year. The best formation in this edition contained two stars from Andrea Pirlo’s side.

The first is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo, who left Juventus last summer to rejoin Manchester United.

Federico Chiesa, a former teammate of the Portuguese, has joined him. The young Italian was one of the season’s few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous campaign.

Nonetheless, Ronaldo was not the only star on the list to leave Serie A for richer pastures. The Best XI also contains Romelu Lukaku, who guided Inter to the Scudetto before joining Chelsea.

Achraf Hakimi, who left the Italian champions to join Paris Saint-Germain, and his current colleague Gianluigi Donnarumma are also on the list.

The best formation was dominated by the Nerazzurri, who also included Nicol Barella, Stefan de Vrij, and Alessandro Bastoni.

Donnarumma (Milan); Hakimi (Inter), de Vrij (Inter), Bastoni (Inter), Hernandez (Milan); Barella (Inter), Kessié (Milan), Chiesa (Juventus); Muriel (Atalanta), Lukaku (Inter), Ronaldo (Inter) (Juventus)
