The Manchester United midfielder is in his second season at Old Trafford and has been a fantastic addition from Sporting Lisbon.

There’s a lot to love about his work throughout this time period, and the numbers add up when it comes to his particular contribution. However, the 27-year-true old’s desire is for team success and the trophies that come with it.

“The squad will always be the most important to me,” he said in an exclusive interview to commemorate his signing anniversary. “As a player, you obviously want to have high stats. I’d like to score goals and provide assists. That is self-evident.

“No player can claim to be uninterested in scoring goals or providing assists, but I want to do both with a positive outcome. I’ll never be satisfied till we have both; I’d rather have a win than a goal or an assist. This is a team sport, and we play football, so it needs to be that.

“If not, I enjoy playing tennis or other sports where I can compete against myself and my numbers. Doing my best for the team is the most important thing to me. I’ll be satisfied even if I don’t score in as many games and we always get the three points.”
