Abraham has spent his whole career with Chelsea, having progressed through the club’s youth academy.

After scoring an amazing 18 goals in the 2019/20 season, Abraham appeared to have cemented his place in the first squad.

However, the 23-year-old has been locked out of the team since Thomas Tuchel took over as manager in January, and he appeared in just 17 minutes of Premier League football throughout the final months of last season.

Because Chelsea is on the verge of re-signing Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan in a high-profile deal, Abraham is expected to slide lower down the pecking order, and Tuchel is prepared to transfer the striker to make place for the Belgian striker.

Arsenal had been linked with a move for Abraham in recent weeks, but it appeared as though Roma had won the race, with Sky Sports News reporting that the Italian club had signed a £34 million agreement with Chelsea.

Although it appears like a move to Italy is still on the table, the Mirror reports that Abraham is holding out for a move across London and has now accepted personal terms with Arsenal.

The issue thing is for Arsenal to reach an agreement with Chelsea, but according to the publication, the Gunners have failed to meet Chelsea’s valuation, with the Blues previously offering £40 million to their Premier League rivals.

DON’T MISS:

Mikel Arteta has already spent more than £70 million on three new recruits, with center-back Ben White, left-back Nuno Tavares, and midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga all joining the club, but the Spaniard is aware that he will require more reinforcements this summer.

A new striker appears to be on the horizon, and Abraham has emerged as a leading candidate. However, Arsenal will need to move at least one of their current forwards in order to create a way for the England international.

Arsenal is open to selling Alexandre Lacazette, who has just one year left on his contract, while Eddie Nketiah is also expected to leave the club, with Brighton among the clubs interested in signing the teenager.

DON’T MISS:

If Arsenal can sell Lacazette and/or Nketiah for a reasonable sum of money, they will be able to proceed with their chase of Abraham. Just whether the Chelsea striker is willing to sit back and wait for Arsenal to complete their other transfer business or whether he will prefer to join Roma instead remains to be seen.
