Cristiano Ronaldo may find himself collaborating with archrival Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain next season.

With a stunning summer swoop, the French giants are considering providing Ronaldo with an escape path from his Manchester United misery.

Ronaldo is contemplating his future at Old Trafford after his comeback to United did not go as planned.

And if Ronaldo decides to leave United at the conclusion of the season, PSG would be willing to offer him a 12-month contract.

The French billionaires have accepted that Kylian Mbappe will join Real Madrid in what is believed to be a world record transaction this summer.

However, Ronaldo is regarded as the ideal short-term replacement, which means the Portuguese legend might find himself in the same team as long-time rival Messi in the French capital.

Ronaldo and Messi have been vying for the Ballon d’Or for nearly two decades and are widely recognized as two of the greatest players of all time.

Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, is assessing the 37-year-options old’s for next season and has received a slew of bids.

Ronaldo, who has grown dissatisfied with life at United, will meet with Mendes next month to negotiate his next move at the end of the season.

PSG is one of the few clubs in the world that can afford Ronaldo’s £500,000-per-week salary, and a move to Paris would appeal to Ronaldo because he would be guaranteed Champions League football.
