VIDEO: DE LIGT ADMITS HE RESPECTED CRISTIANO RONALDO TOO MUCH

Matthijs de Ligt, a Juventus defender, reveals that Weston McKennie is his funniest teammate in Turin and explains why he admired Cristiano Ronaldo and Gigi Buffon so much.
The Dutch center-back joined the Old Lady from Ajax in 2019 and worked with the renowned scorer and goalkeeper for two seasons.
“At first, it was very difficult. “I am a very respectable guy, and maybe I respected these individuals a little too much,” he told CBS Sports.
“At the end of the day, we’re all in the same boat; you have to push each other to improve.” But, eventually, you learn from other players and make terrific teammates and friends.”
What about Serie A has shocked him?
“Every game feels so difficult. “It was disheartening for the Dutch champions to win 2-0 against No.15 in the table,” he remarked.
“It was shocking to see everyone so joyful following a 1-0 win against the bottom of the table in the first season [at Juventus].”
“Who’s the funniest guy?” McKennie and Wes, I believe… He’s hilarious to watch, and he’s improved a lot in his game with us. He’s a really funny man.”
🗣 @IFTVMarco: “Who’s the funniest guy on the team?”
🗣 @mdeligt_04: “McKennie… He lives in a completely different world than us. It’s so funny to see.”Matthijs de Ligt didn’t even hesitate 😂
