Dalot has had a difficult time at Old Trafford so far, having spent the majority of his time behind Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the pecking order.

Rangnick, on the other hand, is willing to put his trust in the Portuguese international, who impressed on loan at AC Milan last season.

Solskjaer prevented Dalot from joining Borussia Dortmund before the start of the new season, but he continued to select Wan-Bissaka despite his poor form.

According to ESPN, both Dalot and midfielder Fred are in line for new contracts as a result of their performances this season.

Fiorentina is reportedly interested in signing Dalot this summer, but United are now expected to demonstrate their commitment to the youngster.

Any decision on the club’s long-term first-choice right-back will be made by the new manager this summer, and a fresh acquisition could be made in that position.

Meanwhile, Fred’s efforts over the last 18 months have continued to prove his naysayers wrong.

Since joining Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer of 2018, the Brazilian has struggled to win over the club’s supporters, but the tide is beginning to shift.

Fred scored a crucial goal off the bench in United’s 4-2 win at Elland Road on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes, a fellow midfielder, praised his impact and performance.

“Obviously, Fred is a hard worker, and he is the type of player that does not receive a lot of media (attention) because he works hard and recovers a lot of balls,” Fernandes told MUTV.

“He and Scotty (McTominay) are two players who are extremely vital to us in a variety of games.” “I am overjoyed for him.”

Rangnick has made no secret of his admiration for Fred’s skills in the middle of the park.

The box-to-box midfielder is now beginning to have an impact on the game at both ends of the field, earning the respect of his teammates.

Fred and Dalot both signed five-year contracts at Old Trafford during the same transfer window.

They are both in the final 18 months of their current contracts and aim to stay at the club.
