Despite United’s failure to defeat relegation-threatened Watford in a dominant effort at Old Trafford, the interim manager was in excellent spirits.

United currently leads Arsenal, West Ham, and Tottenham by two points, with the three London-based top four contenders breathing down their necks.

After the stalemate against Watford, a video of Rangnick being interrogated by supporters while signing an autograph on a fan’s shirt surfaced on social media. “There are three huge names coming in the summer [Jules] Kounde, [Declan] Rice, and [Erling] Haaland,” someone behind the camera can be heard stating.

Rangnick reacts “Who is it, exactly? What are your nighttime fantasies?”

The summer appears to be another busy moment for United, as they attempt to add a number of players to their ranks as well as welcome Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s permanent successor.

Rice, a West Ham midfielder, is a player the club is interested in, and the club has admitted that their midfield is their ‘greatest concern,’ and they have long admired the Hammers captain.

Haaland is a highly sought-after player in Europe, with PSG, Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Manchester City all showing interest. Before he moved to Borussia Dortmund in December 2019, United attempted to sign him.

It’s unclear whether they’ll follow their interest in the Norwegian any further, but the Manchester Evening News knows that a list of targets for a young forward is being put together ahead of a summer transfer.

Jules Kounde of Sevilla has been mentioned, but he is not thought to be a primary target at this time.
