Bayern Munich is considering buying a new right-back in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes, and has identified Manchester United star Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a possible target.

Bayern Munich’s first-choice right-back is currently Benjamin Pavard, although the Frenchman has not been convincing enough on a consistent basis. Meanwhile, Bouna Sarr has failed to settle in and make a mark in Bavaria, while Niklas Sule, who has been used at right-back at times, will join Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

As a result, manager Julian Nagelsmann is trying to add a new right-sided full-back to his team. According to the report, Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United has appeared on Bayern Munich’s radar as a potential summer transfer target.

Wan-Bissaka, a product of the Crystal Palace development system, joined Manchester United in 2019 for a sum in the region of £50 million. When he originally arrived at Old Trafford, he quickly established himself as the first-choice right-back, with previous manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferring him over Diogo Dalot.

While the Englishman has proven to be a capable defender, his attacking ability has left much to be desired. Furthermore, the 24-year-old has seen a significant drop in form this season, which has resulted in him losing his starting spot under interim manager Ralf Rangnick, who has consistently chosen Dalot.

Wan-Bissaka has made 121 appearances for Manchester United, scoring two goals and assisting 10 times. However, with him losing his starting spot at the club and the Red Devils slated to sign a new right-back in the summer, the former Crystal Palace ace could be allowed to leave.

Bayern Munich has surfaced as a possible destination for Wan-Bissaka, while they are also considering Ridle Baku of VfL Wolfsburg and Achraf Hakimi of Paris Saint-Germain. In the past, the German champions have been prominently associated with Barcelona’s Sergino Dest.

Wan-future Bissaka’s at Manchester United might be determined by a number of circumstances, including who becomes the club’s next manager and the future of Diogo Dalot, who is being courted by Fiorentina. The 24-year-current old’s deal with the Red Devils expires in the summer of 2024, with the club having the option to extend it by another year.
