Manchester United consider selling 29-year-old defender

This season, Maguire has come under a lot of scrutinies, and he’s often been blamed for the club’s on-field troubles. In his 24 Premier League games, he has only helped Manchester United retain six clean sheets, and several blunders have resulted in United surrendering goals. Fans and journalists have been outspoken about Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney’s recent performances, pushing for the club to remove him as captain and transfer him in the summer.

Maguire has made 138 appearances for the Red Devils since joining Leicester City for £80 million in 2019. Following a succession of good performances at the heart of Manchester United’s defense, he was named captain in January 2020 by then-manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
