Both Erik ten Hag and Mauricio Pochettino are considered frontrunners to succeed Ralf Rangnick at the end of the season.

The Ajax manager is a fan favorite, but certain players of the squad are rumored to prefer the current Paris Saint-Germain manager.

According to the Daily Mail, United are under enormous pressure to complete a deal for the next manager as rival European teams express interest.

On Monday, Ten Hag had an interview to become the next manager of the Red Devils, while Pochettino is thought to have spoken with football director John Murtough.

In the coming days, the Argentinian is expected to have a formal interview for the managerial position.

According to the outlet, United sources claim that the process of selecting a new head coach is moving forward, but an announcement on the next manager is still weeks away.

Regardless of what happens in Manchester, the two frontrunners are expected to leave their positions in the summer.

Pochettino has also been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with The Mail reporting that a ‘proposal from the Spanish club may be imminent.’

Carlo Ancelotti’s men have advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League and currently lead the league by nine points.

However, it is believed that the Bernabeu board of directors is dissatisfied with the current style of play and is considering a manager change.

According to the Mail, Ten Hag has spoken with two other European clubs that regularly compete in the Champions League, and one of them has made a firm offer.

Other managers are being considered, including Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui and Spain’s Luis Enrique, but a move appears unlikely at this time.

The football director and technical director Darren Fletcher have completed their discussions, with Richard Arnold holding the final talks with the candidates.
