Tyrell Malacia

Tyrell Malacia has done very little wrong since joining United from Feyenoord in the summer.

However, the Netherlands international delivered a dismal display that will have fans counting down the days until Luke Shaw returns.

Malacia should have done better in the last phases, misjudging the ball’s bounce to his detriment.

Malacia stuck out a leg in his haste to make atonement, and Jesus Navas was able to supply a cross.

Unfortunately for him, the ball deflected off the left back and into the net. Overall, it was a night to remember.

Harry Maguire

Harry Maguire has been a rock for Manchester United in recent months.

His cameo off the bench, though, was a dud, with the England international’s own goal giving the La Liga giants a hard-earned draw.

Maguire was not to blame. The ball was deflected in by the former Leicester City player, who had little chance of stopping it.

While this is true, he was unable to organize his troops as United players lost their cool and eventually surrendered to pressure.

Maguire is the leader of this team, but his lack of authority was evident as Sevilla scored at the death to increase their prospects of reaching the semi-finals.

Weghorst

Wout Weghorst worked hard after coming on with around 30 minutes to play like he always does.

But if he had been more brutal, United could have easily won and extended their lead.

Weghorst had an opportunity in the box with the Red Devils leading 3-0. Swivel and strike, and the ball will almost certainly end up in the net.

However, Weghorst does not think like the best center-forwards in the world, and he chose to pass instead.

The shot would have been taken by Erling Haaland, Victor Osimhen, Kylian Mbappe, and Harry Kane. Weghorst, on the other hand, isn’t a player of that caliber.

Anthony Elanga

During the early phases of the game, United’s offense was fearsome.

Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, and Antony all looked promising, offering pace and potency to their frontline.

Anthony Elanga, on the other hand, did not impress when given a chance.

The Sweden international is useful, but despite seeing a lot of the ball, he didn’t do much with it.

This summer, United is open to bids for Elanga. It’s easy to see why based on this evidence.

Scholes criticizes United.

Meanwhile, in the BT Sport studio following the match, former United star Paul Scholes blasted the Red Devils for their late collapse.

“The second half was a complete disaster,” he said.

“You never got the impression that Sevilla put a lot of pressure on United.” United must have thought this would be a walk in the park.

“It appears that Lisandro Martnez has done his Achilles.” It’s not looking good.”

He continued, “I tell you what, going over there is going to be extremely difficult.” The second half was quite sloppy. If away goals were still available, United would face a truly uphill task. However, they should have plenty.”
