Tyrell Malacia earned his Manchester United debut in Tuesday’s thrashing of Liverpool FC in Thailand.
Tyrell Malacia, who made his Manchester United debut against Liverpool on Tuesday, says he hopes to contribute ‘energy and assists’ to the club.
The 22-year-old came in at halftime of United’s 4-0 victory in Bangkok and immediately drew attention with his lively style of play and deft defensive effort.
Malacia joined United from Feyenoord last week, becoming Erik ten Hag’s first acquisition. He signed a contract until June 2026, with the option of an extra year.
Now that he’s had his first taste of football in a United shirt, the left-back is keen for more, and he really wants to play in the Premier League next season.
“I’m really thrilled,” he said following his debut on MUTV. “It feels incredible to be here and to be wearing this shirt.” It was challenging because of the extreme heat, but we made it. I’m hoping to contribute some enthusiasm to the team while also defending well.
