Ralf Rangnick’s first and maybe final transfer window as Manchester United manager finished with no new arrivals but lots of outgoings as the Red Devils’ locker room was cleared out.

Jesse Lingard, on the other hand, did not depart. The Manchester United midfielder was linked with loan moves to Newcastle and West Ham, but the club chose to keep him at Old Trafford.

Over the summer, United spent more than £100 million to bring Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, and Raphael Varane to Old Trafford as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer attempted to build a title challenge.

It didn’t quite work out, as Solskjaer was fired in November after a poor run of form, and it was expected that Rangnick would be given finances in January to make his mark.

However, that was not the case, and it appears that United is waiting until next summer to appoint a new manager.

Although there will be no new faces at Old Trafford between now and the end of the season, there will be some significant absentees, and Mirror Football has compiled a list of who has left United since the January transfer market closed…

Amarou Haidara, a midfielder for RB Leipzig, was linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier this month, immediately after Ralf Rangnick’s arrival.

Despite being anticipated to splash the cash, United chose not to add any new players and will instead have to make do with the ones they already had.

Instead, a midfielder is expected to be at the top of United’s wishlist ahead of the summer transfer season, with the likes of Haidara and Declan Rice widely connected.

United, on the other hand, chose to focus on moving players out of Old Trafford rather than bringing in new faces in January.

Anthony Martial got his January wish as he left Manchester United to join Sevilla on loan until the end of the season.

The Frenchman begged United to let him go because he needed more game time, and after having a loan bid refused, Sevilla acquired their man with no loan fee.

That’s because Sevilla agreed to pay the 26-year-wages old’s in full, and Martial’s desperation for minutes was underscored as he chose Sevilla over Juventus and Barcelona, both of which indicated interest.

It is unclear whether United would attempt to trade the forward in the summer, as Martial may be given another chance depending on who is appointed as the new manager at Old Trafford.

As Chris Smalling opened the way for Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori to follow the path to Serie A, Axel Tuanzebe became the next Englishman to travel to Italy in search of game time.

Tuanzebe joined Napoli at the start of the transfer window and has already made his debut for the Italian giants after his loan deal to Aston Villa was terminated.

Tuanzebe’s chances of playing first-team football were made even less likely by Varane’s arrival in the summer, with Harry Maguire, Eric Baily, and Victor Lindelof all regarded as more senior possibilities than the 24-year-old.

Napoli paid £470,000 for the loan, and they have no option to buy the defender at the conclusion of the season.

After a number of possible loan deals fell through, United finally agreed to take Amad on loan till the end of the season from the Scottish Champions Rangers.

United paid £37.2 million to buy the youngster from Atalanta, and the 19-year-old has already scored his first goal for the Red Devils but has joined Rangers to help with his development.

Amad made an immediate impact for the Rangers, scoring only five minutes into his debut, but it wasn’t enough as they were held to a 3-3 draw away to Ross County.

Rangers lead Celtic by two points in the Scottish title race, which will be a useful experience for Amad because he is part of United’s long-term plans, and the club is determined to contend for the Premier League crown once more.

Donny van de Beek, another United player who has been denied playing time, has been given a loan transfer away from the club to join Everton.

The Dutchman was close to joining the Toffees in the summer, but a deal fell through, and Everton has now beaten Crystal Palace to his signature.

Van de Beek was extensively connected with a move to Selhurst Park, but United accepted Everton’s offer to pay his wages in full, and he will remain at Goodison Park until the end of the season.

Everton has no choice to buy the Dutchman at the end of the season since United is still optimistic that van de Beek will be a part of their future plans.

Man Utd’s whole transfer activity…

IN: None.
