Alex Telles of Manchester United has been nominated for the Champions League goal of the season award.

The Brazilian has been nominated for his goal in a 2-1 win over Villarreal in the competition’s group round. United fell behind to a Paco Alcacer goal until Telles equalized with a spectacular strike off a Bruno Fernandes free-kick.

However, Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show that night, scoring a late goal in injury time to defeat the Spanish side. Telles said of the goal in December, “That was one of the most beautiful moments of my career, it’s a moment I will never forget.”

“First, because I was playing for Manchester United in the Champions League, and second, because I scored a goal in that environment.” We were behind, then equalized, then turned the score around; it was a spectacular, unforgettable evening.

“I share the credit for that goal with Bruno because it was his idea to make that pass.” Obviously, I was able to score that goal due to my hard work, confidence, and skill, which I am confident in.

“I’ll never forget that feeling.” The most important thing is to please the spectators; I will never forget how pleased they were in the stadium that night.”

The shortlist for the trophy includes Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Karim Benzema. Meanwhile, United fans can help him win the prize by voting for Telles’ goal here.
