Manchester United ‘join Atletico Madrid and Juventus’ in race for midfielder and more rumours
Man United are looking to strengthen their midfield this summer.
Manchester United is said to have approached Borussia Monchengladbach about Manu Kone’s availability.
This season, the 21-year-old has made 27 Bundesliga appearances, scoring twice and assisting once. According to L’Equipe, Kone’s future with the German club is questionable after they finished 10th in the table.
Atletico Madrid and Juventus are rumored to be interested in the youngster as well. Kone is rumored to be considering leaving Monchengladbach owing to their recent “mediocrity.” Ralf Rangnick, United’s former temporary manager, is said to be a big fan of the midfielder.
In other news, Erik ten Hag is apparently ready to compete with Eddie Howe for Sven Botman’s signature. Newcastle is strongly interested’ in the Lille center-back, according to TMW, however, Ten Hag is said to have joined the fight for his services.
Botman made 32 appearances for the Ligue 1 team last season, and Lille is thought to be asking £25.5 million for the transfer. In the summer, United will attempt to strengthen their defense.
