According to The Sun, Mikel Arteta sees the Frenchman as a perfect signing for his future squad reconstruction.

Chelsea has been watching Nkunku’s growth over the last couple of seasons and again recently, according to London, and there is a long-term interest there.

Having said that, no decision on a transfer for the French star will be made until the club’s takeover is completed.

Meanwhile, Ralf Rangnick, who signed the 24-year-old for the Bundesliga club in 2019, is a major supporter of the player. With incoming manager Erik ten Hag set to take over at Old Trafford at the end of the season, the German is anticipated to transition into a consulting role at the club. Perhaps he’ll try to counsel the club’s new manager on what Nkunku can provide the Red Devils in the future.

Nonetheless, the three clubs appear to have been handed a setback in their pursuit of the attacker as Leipzig CEO Oliver Mintzlaff stated that he will remain in Germany next season.

Sky Sports quoted Mintzlaff as saying: “I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Nkunku will be a member of our team again next season. Our goal for next season is to keep the team together.”

Nkunku has 17 goals in the Bundesliga this season, helping Leipzig finish fourth in the rankings, one point behind third-placed Leverkusen.
