Pep Guardiola perfectly explains Man Utd’s problems after derby humiliation

Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, has hinted that Manchester United’s problems run much deeper than the club’s current manager, as evidenced by City’s convincing win in the derby.

Erling Haaland scored twice, and Phil Foden also found the net as City won the match with a three-goal lead against a lackluster United.

Erik ten Hag’s side experienced another forgettable day as they were outplayed by the vastly superior visiting team.

Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s 27-year reign ended in 2013, United has gone through numerous managers without achieving sustained success.

David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Ralf Rangnick have all come and gone before Ten Hag’s appointment.

In contrast, Guardiola has overseen a period of consistent success and dominance at the Etihad. Like United, City boasts an enviable transfer budget.

However, unlike the Red Devils, they have demonstrated a clear plan and strategy for achieving excellence, rather than settling for mediocrity.

After Sunday’s convincing derby win, Guardiola was asked what sets the two clubs apart, and his response was illuminating.

The Catalan manager emphasized the unity behind the scenes at his club, implying that this was not the case at Old Trafford.

During the post-match press conference, Guardiola elaborated: “I have said many times we go in the same direction, the chairman, the manager, the CEO… first season unconditional support…” Guardiola went on to say that “it’s not easy” to remain respectful, given the disparity between the two sides.

City appointed Guardiola in 2016 after already making several appointments to align with the coach. Director of Football Txiki Begiristain had previously worked with Guardiola at Barcelona, while Ferran Soriano, who also had experience at Camp Nou, was appointed as chief executive.

While United has experienced a series of crises in recent years, City’s stability has established them as the premier football side in both England and Europe.

They have won four of the last five Premier League titles and last season secured a historic treble, replicating United’s achievement in 1999.

Most agonizingly for United, City’s FA Cup final victory came at their expense, and this season, the gap between the two teams appears to have widened.

United has already suffered seven defeats in the Premier League and the Champions League, making them non-contenders for either competition this season.
