On Saturday, United drew 1-1 with Southampton, with Che Adams’ second-half goal canceling out Jadon Sancho’s opener.

Ralf Rangnick’s side has now drawn its previous two Premier League games by the identical scoreline [1-1], which hasn’t improved their chances of finishing in the top four.

Shaw is well aware that the team needs to start putting points on the board sooner rather than later.

“We know it’s a big game against Brighton on Tuesday, so we have to give it our all,” the 26-year-old told club media.

“We know we’ll have the support of the fans, but we also know it’ll be up to us to deliver on the field.”

“Training is going well, and we have a good idea of what we need to do when we go on the field.” So, when we step onto the pitch, it’s up to us to give it our all.

“We have to start by winning that game,” says the coach.

United made a strong start against Shaw’s former team, the Saints, but were unable to secure all three points.

The England international has not shied away from emphasizing the importance of finishing in the top four in his home country.

“I still don’t think we were as excellent as we can be,” he continued, “and that’s not good enough for us because we need to progress quickly and quickly.”

“As I already stated, we must achieve our objectives this season and, with what we have left, we must qualify for the Champions League.”
