It comes after weeks of negotiations and rejected bids, but Erik ten Hag was adamant that the Cameroonian would be David de Gea’s replacement and fill the vacuum between the sticks at Old Trafford.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the two teams have agreed on a €50 million agreement that would see Onana go from Serie A to the Premier League.
This week, Onana will travel to England.
Onana, 27, will go to England in the coming days to complete his physical while the Red Devils sign and finalize any paperwork, including his contract. He will be Ten Hag’s second acquisition of the summer, after Mason Mount as the club’s most recent addition.
Supporters will have to adjust as well since De Gea has been No. 1 for the past 12 years.
