Ten Hag ‘really wants’ £65m Prem star and Man Utd ‘turn to’ defender who ‘will leave’ European giants

Man United has reportedly 'turned to' Bayern Munich and France player Benjamin Pavard as a potential replacement for Kim Min-Jae.

Erik ten Hag is looking to add depth to his squad this summer, and one of his top priorities is to recruit a new defender to compete alongside Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane.

Man United need a fresh signing because they hope to unload Harry Maguire and Eric Bailly before next season.

The Red Devils have been connected with Napoli’s Kim Min-Jae, but Bayern Munich is currently the frontrunner to sign the South Korean international.

United must now consider alternatives, and Football Transfers reports that Pavard’remains of interest’.

The World Cup winner’s contract expires in 2024, and ‘Bayern Munich will let him depart this summer for at least €30 million’.

According to the source, Liverpool ‘likes’ Pavard, but ‘they are evaluating other options at this time and a move is regarded to be doubtful’.

Ten Hag also hopes to acquire one or two more strikers, while United has had three bids for Chelsea’s Mason Mount turned down.

The Englishman’s contract expires in 2024, but Chelsea has boldly established their asking price for the midfielder at about £65 million.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Manchester United are ‘frustrated’ that their last offer for Mount ‘wasn’t accepted,’ but they ‘haven’t yet walked away’.

Ten Hag’still strongly wants’ Man Utd to sign Mount from their rivals, according to Jacobs.
