According to Fabrizio Romano, Celta de Vigo’s highly rated player Gabri Veiga is on his way to Al-Ahli after their proposal was accepted and the player answered yes.

It is an unexpected end to the transfer competition for one of the market’s brightest stars.

Veiga had a breakout season at Celta last year, scoring 11 goals and assisting four times in 36 league games.

His positional versatility and talent have attracted to interest from virtually every major club, including Manchester United.

He was supposedly on the verge of joining Napoli, but the Saudis appear to have made an unassailable offer at the last minute.

United were allegedly in the lead for his signature around the start of the transfer window, with a move described as “likely” in June.

However, they have subsequently moved their attention to Mason Mount, eventually securing him in a deal for up to £60 million.

Veiga’s popularity, on the other hand, never faded. Manchester City, Real Madrid, Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund, and others expressed interest as the bidding battle intensified.

Finally, Napoli got ahead of everyone, with Fabrizio Romano even saying his famous “Here we go” to this agreement.

However, if Saudi Arabia’s rise this season has shown us anything, it’s that they can’t be written off from any race once they decide to enter it.

Gabri Veiga is a departure from the league’s normal signings. He’s a gifted player whose best is yet to come, and he was pursued by every European elite.

In such instances, getting him to sign on the dotted line is a certified statement of intent by the Gulf country.
