Rashford, who was United’s leading scorer last season with 30 goals in all competitions, has faced difficulties in the current campaign.

The 25-year-old England international has only scored one goal for United thus far, which occurred during the 3-1 Premier League defeat to Arsenal.

However, Rashford’s goal drought is not unique, as Manchester United as a whole has faced a challenging opening to the season.

The team currently sits in tenth place in the Premier League table, trailing league leaders and defending champions Manchester City by nine points after seven matches.

To turn the season around, Rashford will play a significant role in the goal-scoring department, particularly with summer signing Rasmus Hojlund still adapting to the Premier League after his transfer from Italian club Atalanta.

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, has expressed his support for Rashford. He believes that Rashford’s hard work and determination will help him regain his goal-scoring form, emphasizing that scoring goals is not an automatic process.

Ten Hag stated, as reported by the Daily Mirror: “I think he knows he can do better than he’s doing now. I’m sure it’ll come.

He works hard, he will finish and it will come. It’s not automatic. As you’ve seen today, we were in the right positions and the decision-making was not good enough, and we didn’t score.”
