Chelsea’s future is uncertain after the UK government sanctioned Roman Abramovich on Thursday in response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to a United source, the club will “go all out” to woo Tuchel away from their Premier League opponents at the end of the season.

Given his background, Premier League experience, and demonstrated ability to win the major championships, the United management regards him as “by far the best prospect.”

Director of football John Murtough is leading the search for a replacement for interim manager Ralf Rangnick, who will leave at the end of the season to work as a consultant.

Murtough is under intense pressure to find a top-tier replacement who can return the club to its previous glory.

He confirmed last week that the club had begun a “thorough process” to choose their next manager, and it is known that contact has now been made with a number of contenders.

Erik ten Hag of Ajax and Mauricio Pochettino of PSG are both on United’s shortlist.

However, the dramatic events at Chelsea provide United with an opportunity to hire a manager of the caliber of Liverpool and Manchester City’s coaches, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola, respectively.

Tuchel witnessed a 3-1 Premier League victory over Norwich City on Thursday night and has stated that he will remain at Chelsea despite Abramovich’s desire to sell the club.

However, he may find life at Stamford Bridge challenging in the coming months.

Chelsea can no longer sell matchday tickets, merchandise, renegotiate contracts, or negotiate new signings or transactions as a result of Abramovich’s sanctions.
