Manchester United submit €55m offer for 27-year-old goal machine who with 48 league goals
Manchester United will be desperate for midfield reinforcements this summer, as Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba are expected to go.
Pogba’s contract has expired, and Matic has stated on his Instagram page that he will leave during the forthcoming transfer window. Even without the departures of two midfielders, the current crop has battled to establish consistency this season, and Erik ten Hag may be looking to enhance in this area.
Manchester United has been scouting Sergej Milinkovic-Savic in recent months, according to Fabrizio Romano, and a new report from getting Football News Italy claims the North West club has made a €55 million bid.
However, the offer is thought to be much below Lazio’s demands, with an €80 million deal required to entice the Serbian away from the Italian club.
Milinkovic-Savic, who stands just under two meters tall, would have a formidable presence in midfield. Despite his ability to play a deeper role, the 27-year-old is frequently used as a box-to-box midfielder due to his goal threat.
The Serbian has 48 league goals in 231 games for Lazio, a figure that many strikers fail to match.
