Manchester United are likely to end the transfer window on a high note after a number of high-profile deals were completed. Erik ten Hag expected the team to respond positively in the transfer market following a string of setbacks throughout the summer.

The major goal was to bring in players who would enhance the present squad, a necessity that became more pressing following the club’s poor start to the season. Since then, they have signed Casemiro from Real Madrid and have recently completed a deal for Antony, who remains their primary attacking target.

Ten Hag has long wanted a fresh goalkeeper to compete with David De Gea. Kevin Trapp was their major goal, but the Germany international turned down an offer from Manchester United and elected to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt. Other goals, such as Yann Sommer, were explored, but Martin Dubravka appeared to be attainable.

Manchester United submitted a loan offer to Newcastle United that included a £5 million buyout option at the end of the season. The Magpies considered the offer, but there was a strong possibility that they would let the goalie go after Nick Pope arrived from Burnley.

Manchester United apparently agreed on personal terms with Dubravka in recent days, with the goaltender eager to move. He will not start for the club, but he will get the opportunity to push the shaky De Gea for the slot and play regularly in cup games in the Europa League.

As of now, Manchester United and Newcastle United have agreed on a loan trade for Dubravka. The loan bid, as previously reported, will include a £5 million buy option, and the keeper is expected to complete the transfer in the coming days.

Manchester United are likely to continue busy in the window, despite the fact that they appear to have completed the most of their transactions this summer. If someone becomes available, there could be an opportunistic signing, however there is the looming dilemma with Cristiano Ronaldo.

If the attacker decides to depart, Manchester United may look to sign a striker. For the time being, things appear to be tranquil, and many expect this to continue after the transfer deadline.
