A fan told Manchester United target, Frenkie de Jong, that Erik ten Hag is waiting for him after Barcelona’s friendly against an A-League All Stars team in Sydney.

De Jong has now responded in kind after being told of United’s apparent interest by a match-goer, which may get some Red Devils fans excited as Ten Hag attempts to make his imprint in the transfer market.
Following Barcelona’s 3-2 victory, one fan filmed a video of the 25-year-old clapping fans and shouting, “Frenkie come to United!”
“Ten Hag is waiting for you… Ten Hag is waiting for you!” he adds.
Throughout the video, De Jong grinned and waved to the crowd, though many questioned whether he could hear the lone message among the thousands in attendance.
Ten Hag has stepped up his pursuit of De Jong, who played 59 times for him at Ajax, according to ESPN earlier this week.
According to the source, United is ready to test Barcelona’s commitment over the midfielder, with the Catalan giants aiming to generate finances to bring in Robert Lewandowski.
However, after exiting the Champions League, United’s interest may be jeopardized, with rival teams rumored to be interested in De Jong.
“I have great expectations from myself, and that is also what I require from my squad,” Ten Hag stated of his goals for the forthcoming season.
“They must work together and provide their best effort every day.” And I would argue that good is not good enough for me. We must do better.”
