The Frenchman is currently fourth on Real Madrid’s all-time scoring list with 303 goals, having passed Alfredo Di Stefano (308) and Raul (323), however, Cristiano Ronaldo is still on 450.

 

At 33 years old, Lewandowski is producing similarly massive figures for Bayern Munich, netting 34 goals in 27 games so far this season, yet Ronaldo believes the French striker is the finest in the world.

 

‘Benzema, without a doubt,’ Ronaldo stated on Bobo TV, according to Football Italia. ‘Lewandowski is on his tail.’

 

Ronaldo has seen enough of Erling Haaland, a 21-year-old striker for Borussia Dortmund, to feel that he will be the best in the world in the future, ahead of Kylian Mbappe.

 

‘Haaland will become No. 1, but the other two are better right now,’ claimed the 45-year-old.

 

‘Mbappe is also a very strong player. I’ve heard he’s signed a €50 million (£42 million) a year contract with Real Madrid. ‘We definitely played at the wrong time.’

 

Ronaldo was praising a variety of modern strikers, noting that players nowadays are more disciplined off the field than he was approximately 20 years ago.

 

Ronaldo went on to say, ‘[Lionel] Messi is incredible, a powerful and technical player.’ ‘He wants to score in every game,’ says the coach. Another outstanding player is Neymar. I hope he can win something with Brazil, but he’s been chastised in his native country for his personal life.

 

‘However, this generation of footballers is better off the field than we were.’ They eat healthily and get plenty of rest. For us, it was the inverse, especially given the number of ladies we had. Consider adopting the same mindset….’
