This comes as a response to Rasmus Hojlund’s struggles in the Premier League, contributing to United’s limited goal tally in the top-flight games this season.

According to Football Insider’s Evan Ferguson transfer update, Ratcliffe could be eyeing the Brighton forward for a potential move in the upcoming transfer market.

Despite Ferguson’s recent contract extension with Brighton until 2029, Man United remains undeterred and is closely monitoring his progress.

Evan Ferguson, at just 19 years old, has already made a significant impact on the south coast. After joining Brighton from Bohemians, he showcased his goal-scoring prowess in the U23s, netting 18 goals in 39 games.

His promotion to the first team under Roberto De Zerbi has seen him continue his impressive form, scoring 15 goals in 43 appearances.

Football talent scout Jacek Kulig has praised Ferguson, describing him as the “complete package” with attributes such as power, instinct, aerial ability, link-up play, decent pace, and technique.

Premier League legends Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have also lauded the young forward for his mature play, hold-up play, desire to get into the box, strength, and overall natural talent.

While reports suggest that Man United might need to pay over £100 million for Ferguson, Ratcliffe’s potential interest in De Zerbi as a replacement for Ten Hag adds an intriguing dimension to the transfer discussions.

The dealings with Brighton could indeed be ones to watch over the next 12 months.
