The Serbia international was linked with a move to Old Trafford in January, but United decided to wait until the summer transfer window to strengthen their midfield options.

Milkinovic-future Savic’s in the Italian city has been hotly debated in recent years, and his current contract, valued at £63 million by Transfermarkt, will expire in the summer.

This season could be his last at Lazio, according to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), as the club looks to cash in on the Serb before his value begins to dwindle.

United is said to have a’strong interest’ in the midfielder, although he will face competition from Juventus and Inter Milan in Italy, as well as Paris Saint-Germain.

Old Trafford has shown a ‘strong’ interest, according to reports. United’s midfield has been criticised this season, and the club has admitted that they need to improve their alternatives in the summer.

Meanwhile, Edinson Cavani has stated his preferred destination ahead of his probable summer exit from United, according to Fabrizio Romano’s piece in The Guardian.

Due to a series of injuries, the Uruguayan has been in and out of the United squad this season. He is reportedly exploring for opportunities to play in Spain, putting an end to rumours that he was on his way to Argentinian club River Plate.
