Ten Hag Shows Man United He's Learnt From Past Mistakes As Managerial Plans Emerges

United’s board of directors has put together a five-man shortlist as the club’s hunt for a new manager has officially begun.

After an outstanding five-year time with Ajax, Ten Hag is a top contender for the United position, alongside Mauricio Pochettino.

According to the Daily Mail, the Dutch head coach is studying English to prevent a language barrier ahead of a prospective move to Old Trafford.

This was a stumbling problem for him when he was in the running for the Tottenham job last summer, and it’s something he doesn’t want to happen again.

Ten Hag has made it clear to Ajax that he wants to depart at the conclusion of the season and is targeting a post at Manchester United.

Ten Hag has previously stated that he intends to travel to England with coach Mitchel van der Gaag.

Ten Hag is expected to start discussions with United in the coming weeks, and the fact that he is brushing up on his English won’t hinder his prospects.

With both managers already employed, United will find it difficult to reach an agreement with Ten Hag and Pochettino.

However, as the club considers short-term solutions, Ralf Rangnick’s men have a contingency plan in place.

According to ESPN, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti is being considered after Sir Alex Ferguson recommended him to new United CEO Richard Arnold.

Ten Hag or Pochettino, according to Wes Brown, would be a fantastic fit for his former team.

888sport quoted the former United defender as saying: “We are familiar with his style of play, and I believe he would relish the opportunity to manage Manchester United.

“He’d be ecstatic, and he’d have the funds to put together his team.

“Ten Hag would also be interested in the position, since it would allow him to showcase his abilities in the top league in the world. It’s a toss-up between the two of them.

“Pochettino, on the other hand, has been here and done it before, and he has a good understanding of the league, the players, and what he need.

“Whichever one it is, it will be a perfect match. United has struggled in recent years to find the proper manager, and it’s a critical decision.”
