Moukoko’s form for Borussia Dortmund has made him one of the most sought-after offensive prospects in Europe. This season, the teenager has six goals in 14 Bundesliga outings.
As a result, it is already the most productive season of his burgeoning career. The Germany international should have a lot more to offer at the age of 18.
However, Borussia Dortmund may not be the right club for him. The term “expired” refers to the fact that the contract has expired.
Although the Bundesliga club is attempting to maintain him, he may receive greater offers elsewhere. Given this, German sources believe Moukoko will leave Dortmund rather than stay.
Until now, Chelsea and Newcastle have been the main suitors for Moukoko. However, if he becomes a free agency in the summer, other teams are sure to be interested in signing him as well.
As a result, TEAMtalk has contacted our transfer specialist, Graeme Bailey, to find out who might be interested in Moukoko.
Along with the two Premier League clubs that have made bids for him, Liverpool and Manchester United have been named as potential suitors.
“One of Europe’s brightest young talents, a lot of Premier League clubs had assumed that he would be re-signing at Borussia Dortmund – but that is not the case,” Bailey told TEAMtalk.
“Dortmund don’t frequently lose stars in this manner, and being homegrown, this will hurt them. Dortmund, I understand, is now facing the prospect of losing him since their offer to him is well below what he wants or what he can receive elsewhere.
“It’s no wonder that Premier League clubs are lining up to sign him. Chelsea and Newcastle have both made bids, but they are not alone. Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Manchester United are all monitoring the situation and preparing to intervene.”
After all, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to sign a talented forward who could develop into a reliable goal scorer in the coming years.
Four foreign suitors for Moukoko have been named.
Moukoko, on the other hand, will have options from mainland Europe to consider. In that regard, one suitor in particular has emerged as a “serious threat” as a result of the striker’s own ambitions.
Bailey added: “Juventus, Napoli and Atletico Madrid also like him a lot, but the one foreign team who poses the genuine threat to everyone is Barcelona. Moukoko is said to be a passionate admirer of the club and regards the possibility of coming to the Nou Camp as a dream come true.
“Dortmund are still in negotiations, but they are beginning to realise that they will lose one of their best ever prospects this summer – but they haven’t given up yet.”
Moukoko has 59 appearances, 11 goals, and eight assists in 59 games for Dortmund. He has been with them since joining their academy in 2016, and he has been a first-team player since November 2020.
Moukoko will have to make a decision regarding his next move in his career in the coming months.
