Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag’s four targets to replace Jadon Sancho as exit grows likely

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag may let Jadon Sancho go during the summer transfer window.

Jadon Sancho of Manchester United could depart the club during the summer transfer window. In Saturday’s 2-1 FA Cup final defeat to Manchester City, the England international was atrocious. As a result, with Erik ten Hag determined to sign a new left winger, he could leave the ship.

Sancho is rumored to be returning to Borussia Dortmund.

According to The Telegraph, Ten Hag is looking for a new left winger despite having Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford as possibilities.

United have long assumed that Sancho would be their path to Premier League glory.

The harsh reality is that the 23-year-old hasn’t been good enough since arriving at Old Trafford from Dortmund two years ago.

Express Sport looks at four players Ten Hag might target, with Sancho’s departure becoming increasingly inevitable.

Mr. Kingsley Coman
Last month, it was revealed that Manchester United were still interested in Kingsley Coman.

They investigated a deal for the Bayern Munich player in 2020, when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was manager, but were unsuccessful.

Now, Coman might depart the Allianz Arena while Thomas Tuchel is still deciding who players to keep or sell.

Given his excellent form for Bayern over the years, any deal for the France international will not be cheap.

However, with United looking to catch Manchester City next season, signing Coman would be a logistical nightmare.

Kvaratskhelia Khvicha
When Khvicha Kvaratskhelia went to Napoli a year ago, nobody had heard of him.

However, a year later, the Georgia international has become a household name as a result of his mesmerizing performances in Italy this season.

United were connected with the 22-year-old last month, as they were with Coman.

With 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 Serie A appearances, it’s easy to see why the Red Devils might be interested in a possible transfer.

Napoli, on the other hand, could be difficult negotiators, with the Italian champions anxious to maintain hold of the winger as they attempt to defend their Scudetto title next season.

Mitoma Kaoru
Kaoru Mitoma is another player who few people had heard of a year ago.

The Japan international joined Brighton in 2021 after spending the previous season on loan at Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

His stay in the nation, however, aided his development, and he returned to the Amex Stadium as a different player.

Mitoma was outstanding for Brighton this season, helping them finish sixth in the Premier League table, scoring seven goals and assisting five times in 33 Premier League matches.

However, a deal will not be easy, especially with the Seagulls about to lose Alexis MacAllister and Moises Caicedo.

Barnes, Harvey
This is a wildcard selection.

However, with Leicester relegated from the Premier League, Harvey Barnes could be a viable alternative for Ten Hag’s team.

The Foxes had a dreadful season, failing to shine under both Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith.

Barnes, on the other hand, can hold his head high after scoring 13 goals and providing one assist in 34 Premier League outings.

With United in desperate need of extra squad depth, they could do a lot worse…
