Fred backs up Marcus Rashford amid claims of Man Utd dressing room divide
Fred has become the latest Manchester United player to respond to rumours of a schism in the dressing room at Old Trafford.
Despite their win over Brighton in midweek, their first in four games, there has been ongoing chatter of a rift behind the scenes.
Following claims that Cristiano Ronaldo was ‘irritated’ by Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire, the England international was forced to break ranks and publicly comment on the speculation.
“Are we going to make it up as we go along now?” In reaction to the initial claims, Rashford wrote, “Please stop looking for divides.”
Now, Fred, who has had a good start under interim coach Ralf Rangnick, has backed up his team-mate, saying that the environment among the players is encouraging, despite the interim leader’s rough start.

However, according to Mirror Football, there are problems in the Old Trafford dressing room, arising from Rangnick’s ambition to make Cristiano Ronaldo captain at the expense of Harry Maguire.
There have been lingering fears that the players have failed to warm to Rangnick and his coaching staff, who are slated to be in charge until the end of the season, in addition to suspicions of cliques among the playing team.
Fred, on the other hand, has credited Rangnick with his mini-resurgence, claiming that he was given a more advanced position than he had been given under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rather than just being a screen for the back four, the 28-year-old has been allowed more freedom to move forward, which he is relishing.
