The new season’s home shirt for Barcelona went on general sale recently through the club’s official outlets and elsewhere. However, until today, it was unknown what the team must wear when they are on the road and the home team’s colors clash with Blaugrana.
Popular soccer jerseys site Footy Headlines claims to have gotten the leaked design, which has been reproduced here, as the weekend approaches in Catalonia.
The away shirt, designed by kit sponsor Nike, features a gold base color with dark navy emblems and harkens back to the early 2000s.
It is, however, designed to pay homage to a previous era in the 1990s, notably the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
As a result, the new shirt’s color and sleeve design were inspired by gold medals from the summer athletics competition. After a remarkable edition of the tournament 30 years ago, Barcelona was permanently changed as a city.
The colors of the five Olympic rings may be found on the sleeve cuffs and the socks of the uniform.
Another intriguing aspect is a delicate design that depicts a Barcelona city map. The shirt’s design depicts the Catalan capital, which is one of Europe’s most famous tourist sites, and includes many grids of apartment towers in the posh L’Eixample neighborhood and Avenida Diagonal, which runs through the city’s summit.
