Griezmann is one of the biggest names in international football, but he’s had a difficult few years, struggling at Barcelona and then seeming past his best after returning on loan to former club Atletico Madrid.

According to The Athletic, the 31-year-old has recently drawn interest from Manchester United, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for him.

For the time being, Romano appears sure that Griezmann is only interested in Atletico Madrid, however his situation with parent club Barcelona appears to be more problematic.

In his exclusive CaughtOffside blog, Romano responded to recent transfer rumors by saying, “I’m aware of chatter that Manchester United enquired about Antoine Griezmann in the summer, but my understanding is there’s not a lot to it.”

“At the moment, the situation is still unclear between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona for Griezmann, so nothing is happening with other teams.” Griezmann is completely committed to Atletico Madrid.”

United are currently lacking in attacking quality, so it’s simple to see why Griezmann would wind up being connected with them following a stellar career in Spain.

Still, the Red Devils would be wiser to look for a younger replacement for the aging Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as an upgrade on erratic performances like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
