Manchester United has been told that Cody Gakpo only wants to come to Old Trafford, Leeds United is looking to acquire a new striker in January, and Tottenham has been granted permission to sign a Sassuolo midfielder, according to Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received a crucial boost in his pursuit of Cody Gakpo.
Over the summer, the Red Devils paid close attention to Gakpo, even agreeing to personal terms with the player. They lost interest, however, when it became clear that Ajax was eager to sell Antony. After spending over £200 million in the summer, United’s budget did not allow for the addition of Gakpo.
Ten Hag, on the other hand, is said to be disappointed at his failure to land Gakpo.
PSV’s star is the reigning Eredivisie Player of the Year, with 21 goals and 15 assists last season. However, he is on track to break that record this season, having already contributed 26 goals in his first 20 games in 2022/23.
That total puts him considerably ahead of his colleagues in Europe’s top six leagues. Only Erling Haaland (25 goals in 15 games) is ahead of the Netherlands’ leading scorer.
That form has heightened interest in his services, with a story earlier this week claiming that Arsenal was ready to hijack the Gakpo trade.

As a result, the 23-year-old is said to be willing to put aside all other interests in order to join Manchester United.
United, who have previously been dubbed “one of the biggest clubs in the world,” are now apparently the attacker’s top transfer target.
A January move appears to be feasible as well, with PSV reportedly having to sell for roughly £40 million.
That’s also the opinion of transfer specialist Dean Jones, who told Givemesport that he expects United to ramp up their pursuit.
“He’s been fantastic for PSV this season, and there’s no doubt he’ll be seeking for a move in 2023.” So I still believe he’s a guy worth considering for a move to the Premier League.
“I still believe that Manchester United is more likely to sign him than Arsenal.”
