Erik ten Hag’s best Manchester United line-up after transfers that can win EPL this season
Man United’s strongest line-up is being debated following the additions of Antony, Martin Dubravka, and others during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United will look back on a successful transfer window, thanks to the additions of Antony and Martin Dubravka late in the summer transfer season, which gave Erik ten Hag what he desired.
The signing of Antony from Ajax gave the new United manager his first choice offensive target, but Ten Hag wasn’t so lucky in midfield, as United missed out on Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong following a lengthy pursuit. They signed Casemiro from Real Madrid as a defensive midfielder to complement the signings of Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, and Christian Eriksen previously in the transfer window.
After losing their first two games, it remains to be seen whether United can rebound in time to give Ten Hag a solid first season in charge. However, the Dutch manager now has a formidable group from which to choose.
Many teams would start Anthony Martial up front in their strongest United XI, highlighting how unpredictable football is. Martial had a strong pre-season and was superb in the second half against Liverpool, but he has been out for the better part of a month with an injury and has not played for the club since November. In the last two years, he has scored eight goals for United.
Now that Ronaldo is not obsessed with an exit strategy, he may be a more focused asset from the outset. Regardless, it is absurd to imply that United are better off without their sole reliable goal scorer. Ronaldo has enough imagination and intensity on either side of him to compensate for his 37 years.
Bruno Fernandes was the most difficult choice, but he is now leading United well, and it is more advantageous to have him start so he can be strategically substituted if necessary.
