Anthony Martial has missed four of Manchester United’s five games this season, and Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka were both out against Leicester.

Manchester United will be without Anthony Martial for the visit of Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.

Martial had an Achilles injury last week, keeping him out of the wins over Southampton and Leicester.

United boss Erik ten Hag indicated Martial got the injury in the second part of his match against Liverpool last Monday, but the Frenchman exercised two days before the win against Southampton.

Martial, 26, missed the first two games of the season due to a hamstring injury and has yet to play for United since November.

Ten Hag was unable to expand on the nature of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw’s injuries at Leicester due to “minor complaints.”

“It’s tough to say with Luke Shaw and Aaron, but Anthony Martial will not be available on Sunday,” Ten Hag explained. “At the present, I have no idea (when Martial will return).”

Wan-Bissaka has only started five of the last 30 league games, while summer acquisition Tyrell Malacia has rapidly displaced Shaw at left back.

Ten Hag has used the same back four in United’s last three victories, and the club has only conceded one goal. United won consecutive 1-0 games against Southampton and Leicester after going the entire season without maintaining consecutive clean sheets.

“I see the whole team defending collectively, and that makes it simpler for our defenders,” Ten Hag remarked. “I believe they excel at cooperating. They do it together, they encourage each other, and they perform well.

“Opponents are finding it difficult to create chances, and I believe this is what we’re witnessing on the field.”

De Gea, Dubravka, Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Maguire, Lindelof, Malacia, McTominay, Fred, Casemiro, Van de Beek, Eriksen, Fernandes, Rashford, Elanga, Antony, Sancho, Garnacho, Ronaldo are possible starters.
