DONE DEAL – Man United star sign for Sevilla
Manchester United’s squad reduction took a significant step ahead yesterday, with Anthony Martial poised to join Sevilla on a six-month loan, and Jesse Lingard potentially on his way to Newcastle United.
Martial’s willingness to join the Spanish club was always evident, but the issue had been their inability to finance his £250,000 per week salaries while also paying the loan fee that United had sought.
However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano tweeted late yesterday night his famous ‘Here we go!’ confirmation that a deal had been reached and that the Frenchman was traveling to Nervion to finalize the move.

Meanwhile, as we reported yesterday, Manchester United is considering Newcastle’s massive loan offer for Jesse Lingard, albeit further reports say that the sum is closer to £5 million rather than the original £10 million.
Nonetheless, the fact that they will quadruple his compensation indicates that the deal is quite likely to go through.
The good news for United fans is that the possibility of both deals being done now allows the club to bring in a player using loan fees and wage savings to finance the move.
‘If United are collecting more than £15 million for loaning Martial and Lingard this week, a midfielder will likely be targeted before the end of the season,’ according to The Express’ Alex Turk.
