Deal Agreed – Man Utd could be about to sign another ‘Eric Cantona’ after private transfer talks

Following his arrival from Leeds in 1992, Manchester United experienced the best of Eric Cantona.

According to rumors, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has spoken with Adrien Rabiot about a possible move to Old Trafford this summer. The Juventus player has yet to sign a new deal in Turin and could be on the move by the end of the season. While there is some opposition to a transfer, it is not universal…

Of course, reports tying Rabiot to a move to United are nothing new.

He was previously on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s radar during his time in charge, but the 50-year-old deemed a deal for the France international to be too risky.

Then, last summer, United considered re-signing Rabiot. They even agreed a fee with Juventus for the 28-year-old, only for the player’s pay demands to derail their plans.

Rabiot, on the other hand, is back on their radar, according to L’Equipe. Ten Hag has supposedly already spoken with the midfielder, implying that a transfer is possible.

Some Manchester United fans are already opposed to a deal for the Juventus star.

Others, on the other hand, are more amenable to a deal.

In the summer, former Manchester United star Paul Parker revealed his view that Rabiot may emulate Cantona if he joins to the Premier League.

“Everyone is throwing up a wall of hate against him (Adrian Rabiot) at the moment because everyone is looking at his history,” he stated.

“They (Manchester United) require something different. They require someone with a strong point to make.

“I believe that if you had looked at the same things in 1992 when Eric Cantona arrived at Manchester United. The only thing he could think about was his season with Leeds and winning the league and the Championship; the previous league Championship and beating Manchester United to it. Eric had nothing else in his locker.

“So Manchester United fans could have been saying that about him back then.”

“I don’t think you can really judge him (Adrian Rabiot) right away,” he added. Some people discover their true home.

“Eric Cantona has found his place.” He was a rebel, and he found a sheriff ready to keep the jail door open for him in Sir Alex Ferguson.

“That is referred to as good management.”

“Perhaps if he (Rabiot) is managed properly, you can get more.”

If United signs Rabiot, he may play alongside Casemiro.

That could limit their innovation, but it would increase their solidarity.

And Bruno Fernandes, who has often shone in the No. 10 role since he arrived over three and a half years ago, might be featured ahead of the pair.

Meanwhile, Rabiot said in March that he might end up staying at Juventus.

But, in comments that will give the Red Devils optimism, he also stated that he is undecided about his future.

“At the moment, there’s no news, but we’ll certainly talk soon,” he stated at the time.

“Because the season will be over in about two months, and we’ll try to talk about it, but I’m calm.”

“There is the possibility of leaving, but there is also the possibility of signing another contract with Juve for all of the reasons I explained earlier.”

“I feel good in Turin, I do a good job at the club, and I have a good relationship with the directors, my teammates, and the coach,” he continued.

“He also helped me for two years and gave me a lot of confidence.”

“I believe that all of this is necessary to feel good and, as a result, make the best decision for my future.”
