‘Shut up’ – Rio Ferdinand delivers brutal verdict in heated Steven Gerrard debate
Birmingham's most recent Aston Villa news is Rio Ferdinand joins in on the Steven Gerrard argument live.
Rio Ferdinand, a former Manchester United defender, shut down a fellow pundit during a heated dispute about Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard.
Ferdinand and his Vibe with Five podcast co-hosts were discussing Gerrard and Frank Lampard’s skills as players when one strong opinion prompted Ferdinand to vehemently defend his position.
When examining the all-time Premier League center midfield ranks, co-host Joel Beya suggested Gerrard was “more impactful” than Lampard. Following Beya’s audacious remark, Ferdinand stated: “Lampard, who? Lampard scored more goals during the day. For four or five years in a row, he scored 20 goals per season.
“No, how, no how, no how, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way, no way You can’t just sit there and say, ‘easy, Frank Lampard is near the bottom of that list.'”
Beya responded: “Lampard was not as influential as Steven Gerrard,” to which Ferdinand responded, “Shut up, please!” What am I hearing?!?
“You just said, ‘he’s not as powerful.’ Lampard averaged 20 goals each season for five or six seasons in a row. No other Premier League midfielder has ever done it.”
