Manchester United set to land two defenders in huge £90m deal: report

Manchester United is planning to make a bid for another defender this summer, and they are willing to pay a high price for one star.
Manchester United are set to pay a high price for a title-winning defender in order to strengthen their defense.
The Red Devils spent a lot of money last summer on Lisandro Martinez, who has been a huge success at Old Trafford. Raphael Varane joined the club in a high-profile trade the previous summer, albeit both are now out injured.
With Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire failing to satisfy Erik Ten Hag, Manchester United desperately need another center-back, if not two.
According to Corriere dello Sport(opens in new tab) in Italy, United is planning to offer £13 million more than Napoli star Kim Min-jae’s release clause in order to move the South Korean to the Premier League.
Kim just won the Scudetto with Napoli after a developing season in which he filled the void left by Kalidou Koulibaly. His release clause is estimated to be about £40 million.
Furthermore, according to the Manchester Evening News(opens in new tab), United is “in pole position” to sign Monaco striker Axel Disasi. According to rumors, the club would pay roughly £40 million for his services.
Disasi and Kim, both dominating center-backs who command the defense well, would complement both Lisandro Martinez and stand-in center-back Luke Shaw well. In this region of the pitch, their aggregate price would only be slightly higher than their record signing.
The 20-time winners paid upwards of £75 million for Harry Maguire’s services. This summer, they appear to be on the verge of losing him for much less.
